announces new Executive Committee.
2023-2024 State Officers elected or appointed at 2023 Annual Meeting.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: May 16 , 2023 – The New Jersey State Affiliate of the American Association of University Women (AAUW), a state-wide women’s rights activist organization consisting of over a thousand dedicated members committed to the fight for equality, has announced its slate of officers for the coming year,
On April 29, 2023, AAUW NJ held its annual meeting virtually. Representatives from the 20 local branches voted to elect officers for the positions that were up for election and appoint others to fill vacant positions for the 2023-2024 term. The newly formed executive committee consists of the following:

Program Vice President: Karen Kaplan
Membership Vice President: Diane Crawford
Treasurer: Karen Brown
Secretary: Jenny Stark
Northern District Coordinator: Diane Crawford
Central District Coordinator: Jackie McGuinness
Southern District Coordinator: Lorraine LaPalomento
“It is an honor to be chosen to serve as President of AAUW of New Jersey” said Sharon Suber. “AAUW is committed to fighting the startling inequalities that persist in education, to close the pay gap and ensure that work places embrace diversity and inclusion, and fight for equal representation for women in the upper levels of management. I look forward to working with the new Executive Committee and the entire Board of Directors to sponsor mission driven initiatives in the Garden State. Through scholarships for women attending college and programs to advance STEM education among middle and high school girls, our local branches have been actively supporting women’s education for over 100 years in the state. We will continue using our platform to call for reducing disparities in education and ensuring pay equity.”
